  2. CHAIRMAN'S REPORT - JOHN W. TEMPLE, Chairman
With Amendment 11 passing, the course is still set for devolution. All programs are still the same.

Vice Chairman Norman Tripp would like a trustee appointed to go further with the negotiations for the UF property on the Davie campus. The property is required if we hope to have future expansion in Davie.

A motion was made to designate a Board of Trustee representative to bring the process to conclusion with Trustee members from Broward to be a subcommittee. The motion was approved unanimously.

  3. PRESIDENT'S REPORT - DR. RICHARD OSBURN, Interim President
Collective bargaining will probably be retained. A letter was received by the BOT showing authorization signatures from 60 percent of the faculty at FAU voting to stay with the current unit. A labor relations specialist is being retained to provide instruction on procedures.

The increased compensation for the Foundation staff was allowed because of their major efforts in the capital campaign. Appropriate state policy on the effect on retirement still awaits a definitive opinion from the Florida Board of Education. It was specifically requested at the last meeting that the attorney for the State Board of Education be contacted for clarification and opinion but this remains an open issue.
