|  Dr. Jennifer O'Flannery is the Liaison to the Board of Trustees and the President's Chief of Staff. The principal function of the liaison and staff is to provide for efficient Board operations and enhanced information flow by serving as the primary point of contact for the trustees with the university. Thus, responsibility for all BOT meeting arrangements, as well as the recording and communication of their proceedings, rests with the liaison's office. Participation in many of the preparative and follow-up activities required for BOT committee meetings is also part of its charge. Successful implementation of these duties requires close interaction with the chairs of the Board and its committees, as well as with the President to whom the liaison reports and who serves as Corporate Secretary to the Board. It is also the charge of the liaison's office to assure that the trustees are engaged in the life of the university by being fully informed on all campus events in which they might have an interest as either a participant or spectator. In addition to making personal contact when appropriate, a complete calendar of activities is compiled and distributed to Board members on a monthly basis.
