Erika Green
, Academic Advisor, School of Communication & Multimedia Studies
"Hello! My name is Erika Green and I am an Academic Advisor within the School of Communication and Multimedia Studies on the Boca Raton campus. I was born and raised in Colorado Springs, Colorado. I attended Colorado State University where I received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Journalism and Technical Communication with a minor in Ethnic Studies. I was extremely inspired by the care and support that I received from the CSU staff and faculty, and that helped me realize that I wanted to have a similar impact on college students. In pursuing this dream, I attended Texas A&M University and received a Master of Science degree in Educational Administration. Over the past few years, I have come to truly appreciate the importance of higher education and the value that college students bring to their institutions and ultimately to the world. I am privileged to be able to work with college students along their journeys through college and helping them visualize their potential for academic and personal success. I am excited to be at FAU and I look forward to working with you!."
Gina Joseph

"Hi! My name is Gina Joseph and I am the Academic Advisor for the School of Communication & Multimedia Studies on the Boca campus. I was born and raised in Bridgeport, Connecticut and moved to Florida to attend college. I earned my Bachelor of Arts in Communication Studies and Master of Science in Higher Education Administration from Barry University in Miami Shores. I have worked in higher education for 10 years in various areas including Admissions, Orientation and Leadership Development. I decided to pursue a career in higher education because I had such an invaluable and enriching experience during my undergraduate academic career. Along my academic journey, many wonderful individuals provided me with guidance but no one more than my academic advisor (Thank you Dr. Sirimangkala!). Being privileged to have had the experiences I did while in college, I knew I wanted to dedicate my professional career to creating an environment where others could be as fortunate. If I can be of assistance to you while you pursue your academic goals, please do not hesitate to contact me or stop in during walk-in advising."

In 2008, I founded Kristin’s Closet, a non-profit organization that donates new and gently used items of clothing to underprivileged students.Fun fact: I love reading J.R.R. Tolkein’s The Lord of the Rings trilogy, Jodi Picoult novels, Charlotte Bronte and Emily Bronte, and anything Shakespeare."
Laura Mooney , Director
"Hello! My name is Laura Mooney and I am the Director of Student Academic Services for the College of Arts and Letters. Most of my time is spent on the Boca Raton campus, although I do make visits as frequently as possible to the Davie and downtown Fort Lauderdale campuses. I am originally from snowy Buffalo, New York and have been in South Florida for several years. I earned my bachelor’s degree in Communication Studies from Canisius College, a small, private institution in Buffalo. I also earned my master’s degree there in College Student Personnel Administration. I have worked in higher education for over ten years and specifically chose the field of advisement because I wanted to help support students achieve their academic goals as I was helped throughout my undergraduate career. As I was a working student with little support, I know how challenging it is sometimes to attain your academic goals. However, I also strongly believe in the value of higher education and in the student/advisor relationship. I always encourage students to utilize their advisor as a resource as I (admittedly) did not use mine most effectively as an undergraduate. I don’t want other students to have that same experience, especially when help is available!"
Evelyn Morris , Academic Advisor
"Hello, my name is Evelyn Morris and I am an Academic Advisor on the Boca Raton campus. I have been advising undergraduates in the College of Arts & Letters for four years and have more than two decades of public service experience. I view academic advising as an extension of my career in public service. I truly enjoy helping people to realize their goal of earning a college degree and recognize that navigating the requirements may be challenging for some. Whether you are a first time in college student or a non-traditional student seeking to enhance your marketability in an increasingly competitive job market, I welcome the opportunity to assist you in meeting your personal, professional and academic goals."
Brittany Ross
, Academic Advisor
"My name is Brittany Ross and I was born in Tuscaloosa, Alabama but raised right here in sunny Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. I attended Clemson University for my undergraduate studies earning my Bachelor of Arts in Communication Studies and Spanish. I then went on to the University of Florida and earned my Masters in Higher Education. Here at Florida Atlantic I am an Academic Advisor and Instructor for SLS1503. This was an easy choice for a career because I believe in the power of education and equipping individuals with the knowledge of how to access and navigate the world of higher learning. My goal is to earn my Ph.D. and become rich (in either order) so that I can provide educational access to those who are less fortunate and can only dream of attending a college or university. I love traveling and really desire to see as much of God's beautiful earth as possible. I've lived in South America and Asia. If you see me walking around campus, feel free to say hey!"
