How to Apply for Graduation - Undergraduate Arts and Letters DegreesThe deadline for Spring 2010 graduation was February 5, 2010 and has passed.
Applying for Summer 2010 Graduation
How to proceed:
1. Complete and print out an Application for Degree.
2. Find out what, if anything, you need to complete the major component of your degree.
-Boca -based Arts & Letters majors: contact your major advisor to request a Major Audit.
*Note: Interdisciplinary Arts & Humanities and Social Science majors meet with their Student Service advisor for their Major Audits.
-Davie, Fort Lauderdale, Jupiter, and Port St. Lucie -based Arts & Letters majors: contact your campus' Academic Support Services to arrange for an update to your major program sheet.
*Note: Interdisciplinary Arts & Humanities and Social Science majors meet with their Academic Support Service advisor for their Major Audits.
3. No later than June 4, 2010 submit your Application for Degree (accompanied by your Major Audit where appropriate, see above) to the Arts & Letters Student Support Services office you usually visit: Boca AH 213, Davie LA 421, Ft. Lauderdale AT 812, Jupiter SR 118, or Port St. Lucie, JU 118.
It is advisable to turn in your application for degree and major audit during an advising appointment the semester before you plan to graduate.
We cannot meet with students to review applications for degree during the first several weeks of a semester.
4. Your Application for Degree will not be accepted if you have not satisfied all sections of the College Level Academic Skills (CLAS) requirement. See the Office of Testing and Evaluation or your Student Services advisor if you have questions about this. If your academic records do not reflect that you have satisfied all four sections of the CLAS by June 4, 2010 you will not be eligible to graduate in the Summer 2010 semester.
5. Please review your transcripts on My FAU. If you have any FAU "I" (incomplete) or "NR" (not reported) grades on your transcripts that you received in the Fall 2005 term or later you must resolve them by June 4, 2010. These grades must be changed by your instructor(s) for each course. If this applies to you begin the process soon as it takes time.
6. Do not plan on taking courses at an institution other than FAU in your final semester. Grade reporting dates vary by institution. Therefore, it is likely you will be deleted from graduation if you take non-FAU courses in your final term. If this happens, you will need to re-apply for graduation in a future term.
** Effective with the Fall 2010 term students who are taking courses outside FAU will not be eligible to graduate that semester. All transfer/transient work must be completed, and official transcripts submitted to FAU, prior to the semester in which you plan to graduate. The only exception to this regulation will be study abroad course work arranged through FAU’s Office of International Programs.
Students planning to graduate in Fall 2010 must meet with an academic advisor to submit their Application for Degree in person. It is recommended to schedule an appointment prior to the end of drop/add for the Fall 2010 term. They must bring their major audit to this meeting.
