Documentary by Professor Adam Smith Featured at Santa Barbara Film Festival

A new documentary film by Adam Smith, assistant professor of multimedia studies, titled “Americaville” premiered at the 2020 Santa Barbara International Film Festival in January. The film tells the story of China's replica of the American Wild West in a town north of Beijing. Smith returned to the festival after premiering his first feature documentary "The Land of Many Palaces" at Santa Barbara in 2015. Smith had follow-up screenings and question and answer sessions at the School of Cinematic Arts and the US-China Institute at USC, The Long Institute at UCI, and the Center for Chinese Studies at UCLA.
