Florida Atlantic University’s Peace Studies Program and Peaceful Mind/Peaceful Life will present two workshops titled “Outer Peace Begins with Inner Peace: Finding Balance in the Midst of Chaos, Fear and Negativity.” The sessions will be offered on Tuesday, Jan. 20 from 6 to 9 p.m. and Saturday, Jan. 24 from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in the Senate Chambers of FAU’s Student Union, 777 Glades Road, Boca Raton campus. All seminars will be facilitated by Peaceful Mind Peaceful Life founder Barbara Schmidt. The cost is $25 per session and registration is required at fauf.fau.edu/peaceful or by calling 561-297-2337.
Using her book “The Practice,” combined with teachings from the great masters, Schmidt will present practical strategies for finding your “center” and knowing your self-worth while staying confident and strong, even when the external world feels incomprehensible and beyond your control.
Schmidt is the founder of Peaceful Mind Peaceful Life and a teacher of a spiritual path that she developed, also called “The Practice.” She has been conducting workshops on peaceful, mindful living for nine years.
The Peaceful Mind/Peaceful Life Series is presented by FAU’s Peace Studies Program in the Dorothy F. Schmidt College of Arts and Letters, in partnership with the Schmidt Family Foundation. For more information, call 561-297-2337 or visit www.fau.edu/peacestudies.
