Jeffrey Morton Receives Teacher of the Year Award

Schmidt College of Arts and Letters, won the Distinguished Teacher of the Year award at the University’s 50th annual Honors Convocation which was held on April 17. The award is determined by FAU students. Morton is a specialist in international law, focusing on security studies, international organization and international relations theory. He also directs the Leon Charney Diplomacy Program, which offers students a unique opportunity to enhance their diplomatic skills and compete in diplomatic simulations, and also teaches at the Harriet L. Wilkes Honors College.
Several other members of the College were also recognized with awards. Wendy Hinshaw, Ph.D., won the Excellence and Innovation in Undergraduate Teaching award; Laura Mooney won the Excellence and Innovation in Undergraduate Advising award; Jeffrey Coltman-Cormier won the Stan and Renee Wimberly Scholar award; and Alexander Bruens won the University Scholars award and the Undergraduate Researchers of the Year award.
