FAU Department of Theatre and Dance to Present ‘King Lear’

Florida Atlantic University’s Department of Theater and Dance in the Dorothy F. Schmidt College of Arts and Letters presents “King Lear” by William Shakespeare, from Friday, April 15 through Sunday, April 24. The play will take place in Studio One Theatre, 777 Glades Road, Boca Raton campus. Tickets are $20.

Considered to be one of Shakespeare’s greatest plays, this incredibly electric tale of an old monarch’s tragic descent into madness and personal hell is the ultimate family drama and political thriller. With depictions of greater cruelty and greater tenderness than perhaps any of Shakespeare’s other plays, king and kingdom are scorched, human nature scrutinized, the wise made fools, fools venerated for their wisdom, and through it all, hope lives eternal.
