Diane Kennedy Weisberg began her studies on violin and viola in the public school string program of Alhambra, California, her hometown. After private study with Noumi Fischer, she attended the University of California at Berkeley, where she worked with Felix Khuner, one of the founding members of the Kolisch Quartet.

She was a member of the Honors Graduate String Quartet at the University of Wisconsin, Milwaukee, which was coached by the members of the Fine Arts Quartet. Her teacher there was Bernard Zaslav. After private studies with Karen Tuttle in Philadelphia, she attended the Yale School of Music where she received the Masters in Viola performance as a student of Raphael Hillyer, one of the original members of the Julliard Quartet. She received the Doctor of Musical Arts in Viola Performance from Arizona State University, where she was a student of William Magers.

Dr. Weisberg has been active as both teacher and performer. She performed Jacob Druckman’s Viola Concerto in its Scandinavian premiere and she has given recitals throughout the United States.

Dr. Weisberg is a member of the Palm Beach Opera Orchestra, the Boca Raton Symphonia, and the Atlantic Classical Orchestra. She was a frequent substitute with the Florida Philharmonic, and performs with many other South Florida organizations. She also played in Ensemble 21, a new music group conducted by her late husband, Arthur Weisberg.

Dr. Weisberg teaches viola at Florida Atlantic University and maintains a large private studio of viola and violin students. She works with the violas at the A. W. Dreyfoos School of the Arts, and is a frequent adjudicator for the Florida Federation of Music. Dr. Weisberg is on the faculty of the New England Music Camp, located in Sidney, Maine.
