Terry Adkins created an environmental installation based on the life and writing of African-American author Zora Neale Hurston.
His project benefited from Adkin's introduction to Palm Beach County through collaborations with the African-American Cultural
Arts Association, Storm of '28 Memorial Coalition, Joseph Littles-Nguzo Faba Charter School, and the Glades Community Development Corporation. An introduction to Zora Neale Hurston by Cartheda Mann, Hurston historian of Belle Glade, accompanied the exhibition. Okeelanta Corporation of South Bay, Florida generously contributed materials for this project.
