Tuesday, May 08, 2018
PhD students Ana-Christina Acosta Gaspar De Alba, Ali Friedberg Tal-mason, and Charlie Gleek hosted a panel along with FAU's Dr. Wendy Hinshaw at FAU's 2018 Teaching with Technology Showcase on April 20 at FAU's Davie campus. The panel session, entitled "Incorporating Digital Humanities in First-Year Writing Pedagogy," highlighted various approaches that Graduate Teaching Assistants used to incorporate the Digital Humanities in their writing classrooms. Their topics included the use of FAU's AMP lab, TED Talks, copyright considerations, and tools such as Google Apps for Education (GAFE), Voyant Tools (an open source text analysis and data visualization tool), and Hypothes.is (an open source and social annotation tool). Photos of the event and videos of some of the panels are available through the 2018 Teaching with Technology Showcase website.
