Submission Guidelines

To submit to coastlines, email your work to Coastlines@fau.edu with "[Genre of your work] Submission" in the subject box.

All submissions must be paginated and in size-12 Times New Roman font. With the exception of poetry, all submissions must be double-spaced. In sending your work to us, you claim your work as original and previously unpublished. We welcome simultaneous submissions (your work may be considered elsewhere while it is under our review) as long as you contact us immediately if acceptance is found elsewhere.

Graphic Narrative: Submit graphic narratives of fewer than fifteen pages. Please send only rtf, .txt, .doc, .docx., or .jpg file formats.

Nonfiction: Nonfiction editors are open to all experimental and traditional forms. Suggested length: fewer than 1,700 words.

Translation: Translations, whether into English or other language, must be accompanied by original work. Translations of your own work are welcome. We are not looking for any specific themes or topics, but suggest a maximum word count of 3,000 words for prose translations, and two pages for poetry. Please double-space prose, and single-space poems. Permission for translation publication must be granted or available. Contact salves@fau.edu with any questions.

Poetry: Please submit no more than five poems, each no longer than two pages. All forms of poetry are welcome.

Visual Art: Submit no more than five works in .rtf, .txt, .doc, .docx, or .jpg file formats.

Fiction: Please limit fiction submissions to 7,000 words. All forms of fiction welcome, with the exception of fanfiction.
