Henning Haupt, who joined the faculty in 2008, is the coordinator of the Lower Division Studio Sequence. He teaches architectural design, drawing and elective courses. Haupt gained his teaching experience at the Technical University at Braunschweig, Germany from 2001 to 2007, where he completed in 2008 his praxis-based Ph.D. in the field of design methods on the relationship between color, painting and architectural design. As a postgraduate experience Haupt joined the Architecture program at the Cranbrook Academy of Arts, Michigan; as a graduate exchange the program at SUNY Buffalo, New York. He received a Diploma of Architecture from the Technical University Darmstadt, Germany and a first Diploma from TU Braunschweig. After working as a practitioner in Berlin he became a licensed Architect in 1998.
