How to Check your Application Status  

It is now possible for you to check your application status using the FAU Self Service System. Click on the URL below and proceed to login using your FAU assigned ID (Z number). Once you are logged in, you will be able to see if the Office of Admissions has received the documents that are required to evaluate your admissions application. It will show the items that were received as well as those items still missing. If you have submitted multiple applications you may need to check with the Office of Admissions for more information.

  •  To check your application status or to look up your FAU assigned ID (Z number), click on the link below.  You can only look up your Z number by using your social security number. Make sure to enter your FAU assigned ID (Z number) with the letter Z in CAPS (Z12345678).
  • Your Admissions PIN should be set to your date of birth MMDDYY. Make sure you enter the 2-digit birth month, 2-digit day of birth and the 2-digit year of birth (MMDDYY). If it still does not work, please contact the Office of Admissions to have your PIN reset to your birth date (MMDDYY).

Check your application status or get your Z number

  • Once you log in to check your application status, click on the term you applied for in order to see the Application details.
  • If you do not have a social security number or did not submit one, please contact our office either by phone, in person, or email. If you request your FAU assigned ID (Z number) by email, you will need to send it from the same email submitted on your admissions application.

Things you should know about the Checklist items listed on your application:

The list of documents that are required to process your application and to decision your file will be displayed on the admissions check your status web page.

  • If you send more than one of a required item, such as a transcript or a test score, only the first date of receipt for that item is shown. If additional transcripts or test scores are sent, those dates may not appear on this status page. 
  • Additional documents may be required after you have been accepted. In order to complete your admissions file and to remove any registration related holds, you may need to submit:
    • Final official transcripts (high school or college) – no work in progress
    • High school graduation information
    • Earned college degree
    • Admissions tuition deposit payment (Admitted Freshman only)

What you should do if...

you forgot your FAU assigned ID (Z number).     

You should have received your FAU assigned ID (Z number) and PIN in the mail within a few days of submitting your admissions application. If you have not received this, please contact the Office of Admissions to obtain this information. On the Banner Admissions Login screen (above URL), you can get your assigned FAU assigned ID (Z number) by entering your social security number.  If you do not have one or did not submit one to admissions, you will need to contact our office. If you have a problem obtaining your assigned FAU assigned ID (Z number), please contact the Office of Admissions.

you don't know your PIN, or the PIN you tried did not work.

Your Admissions PIN should be set to your date of birth MMDDYY. Make sure you enter the 2-digit birth month, 2-digit day of birth and the 2-digit year of birth (MMDDYY). If it still does not work, please contact the Office of Admissions to have your PIN reset to your birth date (MMDDYY).

your account becomes locked after a number of log in attempts.

You will need to contact the Office of Admissions directly in order to have your account unlocked. Please e-mail admissions@fau.edu with your name and your FAU assigned ID (Z number), or call 561-297-3040.

after you attempt to log in " The page cannot be found" error appears. In order to check your application status, please follow the instructions below.

1. For Current Student or FAU Staff

You will  have to check your application status by logging into your MyFAU account at https://myfau.fau.edu/cp/home/displaylogin.

  1. Log into your MyFAU account, then click on the "Home" tab. Select the "FAU Self-Service (OWLS)" link under the "FAU Self-Service" section.
  2. Select the "Student Services" link,
  3. Select "Review "Existing Admissions Applications."
  4. Then select the term for which you applied.

 If you do not know your MyFAU account user name and password, please contact us at admissions@fau.edu or call us at 561-297-3999.

2. For Alumni and Former Students

Those who have graduated or have NOT taken a course in at least one of the last three terms should follow the directions below: http://www.fau.edu/explore/transcripts.php

Logging into FAU Self-Service:

To log into FAU Self-Service (OWLS), you will need to use your new student ID number __ the Z-number __and PIN. The Self-Service login page has a link to help you get your Z-number if you do not know or have forgotten it.  (click on the "forgot FAU Z number?" button on the login screen)>

Your PIN is based on your birth date in MMDDYY format. For example, if your birthday is 03/07/82 your PIN would be 030782.
