<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-family:Calibri"><em style="mso-bidi-font-style:normal">Open to Presidential Scholars, and students who have applied and been accepted into the University Scholars Program.<span style="mso-spacerun:yes"> <br /></span></em><em><span style="mso-bidi-font-family: RotisSansSerif-Italic"># of students accepted per year = 46</span></em></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-family:Calibri">Minimum requirements for the FAU University Scholars program are 1250 SAT and a 3.5 GPA. Interested students not meeting these requirements should contact the Director of the University Scholar s Program regarding alternative admissions criteria.</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-family:Calibri">The University Scholars Program is the two year Honors Program at the Boca Raton Campus of Florida Atlantic University. It has been designed to provide students with exceptional and rewarding learning opportunities through special Honors Seminars, the Honors SLS class, Honors sections of Freshman courses and the option of taking more advanced courses to substitute for first-year required courses. The advantages of the University Scholars Program include small class size, close contact with many of the University’s top ranked faculty, as well as special advising/registration.</span></p>

Frequently students note that the grades in their Honors seminars have helped their overall GPA. <br /></span><span style="mso-bidi-font-family: RotisSerif; font-family: Calibri">• Make a Difference!</span><span style="font-family:Calibri"> Participate in various FAU Community Service projects (at least 20 hours during the freshman year)<br /></span><span style="mso-bidi-font-family: RotisSerif; font-family: Calibri">• Get the VIP Treatment!</span><span style="font-family:Calibri"> Also, students in the Program get special advising and have first day priority in class registration.<br /></span><span style="mso-bidi-font-family: RotisSerif; font-family: Calibri">• Be Competitive!</span><span style="font-family:Calibri"> Being in the University Scholars Program is a definite plus when applying to graduate or professional schools. Students receive an Honors Certificate at the Honors Awards Ceremony held in the fall semester of the junior year. A notation of "honors" will be made on their final transcript.<br /></span><span style="mso-bidi-font-family: RotisSerif; font-family: Calibri">• Achieve Your Goals!</span><span style="font-family:Calibri"> When you complete the Program , you are<span style="mso-spacerun:yes"> </span> awarded a certificates of completion by<span style="mso-spacerun:yes"> </span> the President<span style="mso-spacerun:yes"> </span> in a special ceremony<span style="mso-spacerun:yes"> </span> in which your parents and friends can attend. In addition, your name will be added on the plaque containing all the names of students who have completed the Program.<span style="mso-spacerun:yes"> </span> Students then go on to continue their undergraduate program in the department in which they are majoring.</span></p>
