HEALTHY OWLS (Wellness) LLC

Open to all first-year students who want to learn more about healthier choices and living a healthy lifestyle.

Healthy Owls is an LLC for students who want an environment that limits peer pressure and supports choices for a healthy lifestyle.  As part of the Healthy Owls LLC, students will have the opportunity to learn about wellness, the active, lifelong process of becoming aware of choices and making decisions towards a more balanced and fulfilling life.

What courses do I take in the Healthy Owls (Wellness) LLC?

As part of the Healthy Owls LLC, you will have a selection of courses to choose from that will meet your core curriculum/general education requirements for just about any major.

FALL semester:
English Composition I (3 credits)
Learning Strategies & Human Development (1 credit)
Appropriate “core curriculum” courses (8-10 credits) *

SPRING semester:
English Composition II (3 credits)
Health and Fitness for Life (2 credits)
Appropriate “core curriculum” courses (7-10 credits) *

What are the benefits of joining the Healthy Owls (Wellness) LLC?
• Get Connected! Live with other students who are committed to a healthy lifestyle—and support you in your efforts to develop and maintain that lifestyle
• Establish Friendships! Have people to study with right “on your doorstep” or even in your own room
• Find Support! Have tutoring, advising and other support services available to help you succeed—right in the residence hall
• Be Involved! Have special programs designed just for you as a first-year student interested in wellness
• Educate Others! Teach other FAU students about how to live a healthy lifestyle and promote awareness around health issues that impact FAU students
