FAU's downtown Fort
Lauderdale campus was established in 1987 with
the opening of the Reubin O'D Askew Tower (at
right). In 2001, the first tower was joined by
the 12-story Florida Atlantic University-Broward
Community College Higher Education Complex (at
left), the first higher education facility in
the nation designed to house both university and
